Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy Appointments involve a 1:1 interview including past medical history taking and a discussion regarding your presenting complaint. A physical assessment will be completed and once a diagnosis can be made your Physiotherapist will discuss setting some achievable goals from treatment and a personal treatment plan will be issued to meet your goals.

Special Clinical interests • Urinary and Bowel Incontinence - Stress and Urge • Overactive Bladder Syndrome (Urinary urgency & frequency) • Pelvic dysfunction/pain (including vulvodynia, pain on intercourse) • Management of Pregnancy related musculoskeletal conditions (back & pelvic pain)

Emma treats a variety of patients from 16 years upwards, female and male, and is excited to be bringing this relatively unknown area of physiotherapy to Lunenburg.

Research shows that pelvic floor physiotherapy reduces the need for surgery in the majority of patients with incontinence and mild to moderate vaginal prolapse.
